We found out about CTM through an internet search, we were looking at quite a few video companies, when we came across their website. We were really impressed from the start and when I realised that they were in Hull, we couldn’t believe our luck. They sent us some examples of their work and we loved it. We had a fear of getting videographers that would ‘ham’ everything up, put us in soft focus and make the whole day look cheesy but their demo work was honest, non intrusive and beautifully done records of the day – exactly what we wanted. 

When we made an appointment with Andy, he came over with more work to show us. We clicked with him straight away – down to earth, very talented with the same barmy sense of humour as us. We gave him a deposit there and then to hold our date and after seeing Sam’s reportage style photography work, we booked the stills package as well. Andy visited a few more times before the big day to go through exactly what we wanted. We had loads of ideas ourselves and CTM were really flexible and were eager to tailor anything to us, which makes them such a good team. With many other businesses that we had to deal with through our wedding we had got used to people being very inflexible even though it was our day and with CTM it was very refreshing that they were entirely focused on us and what we wanted. Even if it was something they hadn’t done before nothing was a problem.

On the day itself, we hardly realised CTM were there and there were no cameras in our faces or the guests, so everyone felt really relaxed, which helped maintain the fab atmosphere we had worked hard to achieve. We had a catholic service and despite the longer than usual length, Andy and Glenn just kept filming and Sam was there getting such brilliant photos. Having two cameras is so much better than what most videographers offer, as it gave the wedding footage real dimension and shape and caught every important moment, as there was no sudden moving of the camera to try get a better angle.  

Our reception was in a local village hall bedecked with flowers, ivy and fairy lights, where we served real ale and proper Yorkshire grub. The whole feel of the day was relaxed and fun and we gave CTM videos, their very own table. We had got on with them that well that they ended up being videographers and guests, so they got to enjoy the meal with us. They stayed really late too and got some great footage of the dancing (or should I say attempts at dancing…well celidhs are hard work drunk) which has to be the most amusing of the whole footage.  

After the wedding we came up with more ideas about what could be done with some of the footage and what photos in particular we wanted for our montage. We created lots of extra work for the guys which they readily accepted. Glenn worked like a demon getting everything perfect and exactly the way we wanted it. As a result the final dvd is absolutely fab. It’s picked up all those amazing moments from the day and caught ones that we had even been oblivious to. We had been on such a high at the church that it was hard to remember everything and the atmosphere had been so lively that it was hard to take everything in. We had a very fun and comedic priest and a gospel choir singing during the service and it was great to be able to watch all that back and catch all the banter that took place during the service.  The special moments still makes us both get very emotional and the photo montage is the best record of the day. Sam’s photography is wonderful, we hadn’t been aware of most of the shots being taken and they are just so beautiful and real. Sam had worked very hard getting them ready and they were emailed to us while we were on honeymoon, which helped make that special too. 

We would recommend CTM to anyone getting married, in fact we’ve already passed their details on to many friends. No matter how large or small a wedding is they can be very expensive and are always amazing, hence the cliché “best day of your lives” and to not have a record of that, I feel is a real shame. We had debated ourselves whether or not to have videographers, as surely we felt photography was enough to remember the day and look back on but we are so glad that we found CTM and went for it. There is no greater record to be able to look back laughing and crying on all the ins and outs of the day and who can deny the chance for their children in years to come to watch the footage and remark “Dad is that really you wearing a tie round your head and cutting those shapes on the dance floor?”
